The Sourcing and Importing of Goods Specifically from Asia Into South Africa can Be a Daunting Task, There Can Be A Myriad Of Suppliers For The Same Item or Product.
So Where Do You Start. How Do You Sort Out The Legitimate From The Not So Legitimate. Are You Dealing With The Manufacturer or A Wholesaler or Middleman. Importantly Are You Registered As An Importer, If Not, Before You Go Any Further You Should Do So

Once You Have Sorted This All Out Now Comes The Time For Samples, Are They Available, Are They Free, Is The Packaging To Your Satisfaction, Are There Alternatives, What Is The MOQ, Is It Negotiable. What Are The Lead Times. Who Else Are They Supplying Here, Is It The Same Product. What Recourse Do You Have For Faulty Items. What Is The Suppliers Preferred Method Of Payment . Is It Best To Do an L/C or Should You Do T/T. What Does The Supplier Want, What Is The Most Cost Effective, Should You Take Forward Cover And How Will The Exchange Rate Impact On The Shipment

So Once All Of This Is Sorted Out To Everyone’s Satisfaction We Now Have To Ship The Consignment, Do We Ship LCL or FCL, Which Will Be The Most Cost Effective, How Long Will It Take. Do You Have A Forwarder And Do You Have A Clearing Agent. When The Shipment Arrives At The Port and Is Cleared, Do You Move It By Rail Or Road, What Will Suit You Best. Once The Shipment Is In Your Wharehouse You Need To Cost It Before You Can Sell It, Remembering Not To Leave Anything Out, You Need A True Cost.
